XOXO combines skin-conditioning lipids and waxes that spread evenly over the lips and help retain their existing moisture. Squalane makes the texture pleasantly smooth, while shea butter cares for dry patches and adds to the protective film. This leaves lips feeling softer and smoother, even with regular exposure to cold, wind, or dry air. 

The handy balm stick is easy to apply anytime – on its own for naturally cared-for lips or as a smooth base under lipstick. The formula is lightly scented and contains, among other ingredients, vanillin and orange oil.

Compared with the Plum Plum Lip Balm by Mádara, XOXO comes in a practical stick format and has a vegan formula. Plum Plum, by contrast, uses a certified natural cosmetic formula with plum oil, beeswax, and propolis.

Key active ingredients

• Squalane (Squalane): This exceptionally skin-friendly lipid has a structure similar to squalene, which occurs naturally in the skin, and has excellent softening properties. It spreads easily over the lips, smooths rough patches and leaves the skin feeling silky. At the same time, it supports the natural lipid film and helps reduce moisture loss. Squalane is already third on the INCI list and has a significant influence on the lip balm's skincare properties.
• Organic shea butter (Butyrospermum Parkii Butter): This rich plant butter, made from the nuts of the karité tree, contains mainly oleic and stearic acids as well as nourishing unsaponifiable components. It melts on contact with the skin, softens dry, rough lips and supports their natural protective function. Its supple lipid film helps retain existing moisture in the skin of the lips for longer. Shea butter is a valuable nourishing ingredient, especially for chapped lips or lips stressed by cold.
• Organic sea buckthorn oil (Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Oil): Sea buckthorn fruit oil contains nourishing fatty acids, carotenoids and other antioxidant compounds. It helps keep dry skin supple and complements the lips' natural lipid film. The plant compounds it contains have antioxidant properties and may help protect skin lipids from oxidative stress. In XOXO Lip Balm, sea buckthorn oil complements the richer lipid and wax base.
• Hyaluronic acid (Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hyaluronate): This special form of hyaluronic acid has film-forming properties and adheres well to the skin's surface. It helps retain moisture and contributes to a smooth, supple skin feel. This can make fine lines caused by dryness appear softer. In the formula, it complements the lipids and waxes, which primarily help retain moisture.
• Bisabolol: Known for its soothing properties, this active ingredient occurs naturally in chamomile, among other plants. It is used in skin care to soothe sensitive, stressed skin and relieve uncomfortable feelings of tightness. In the lip balm, bisabolol complements the nourishing lipids and is especially suitable for lips that are sensitive due to dryness or external factors.
