      Lip care

Dry lips are a major problem for many people, especially during the cold season. Wind and cold outdoors, dry indoor heating air - all of this takes a toll on our lips.

That's where lip care comes in, helping keep delicate skin soft and nourished. Whether in a stick, tube or jar, lip care comes in many different forms that are easy to incorporate into your daily routine and offer the right solution for every need.

Why should I use lip care?

The delicate skin on the lips has no sweat glands and very few sebaceous glands. As a result, its natural lipid barrier is less developed than in many other areas of the skin. The skin on our lips is also particularly thin and sensitive. That's why lips lose moisture more easily, especially in dry air, cold weather or sunshine.

The lips' natural protective barrier is therefore limited. Targeted lip care is especially recommended when they are under particular strain.

      Ingredients in natural lip care

A major benefit of natural lip care is the variety of nourishing plant oils, butters and waxes. Some formulas are free from added fragrances, making them suitable for sensitive lips too. However, individual tolerance depends on all ingredients - even natural fragrances and essential oils can irritate sensitive lips.

Natural cosmetic lip care often contains waxes such as beeswax, candelilla wax, or carnauba wax, and rich oils such as prickly pear oil, squalane, jojoba oil, pomegranate seed oil, or sea buckthorn seed oil. These ingredients provide nourishing lipids and, depending on the raw material, other valuable plant compounds. They help keep lips supple and can reduce moisture loss. Lip balms, rich masks, and nourishing lip oils offer different textures to suit different needs. Please note: Lip care products containing beeswax are not vegan; purely plant-based waxes may be a vegan alternative.

For longer periods in the sun in particular, it is also a good idea to use a suitable lip care product with stated UVA/UVB protection and at least SPF 30. Check the declared sun protection factor and reapply as needed, especially after eating, swimming, or drying off. Not every lip balm offers UV protection—the product labeling is what matters.

In summary: Natural care for soft, supple lips

Natural cosmetic lip care offers a lovely selection of nourishing formulas with natural oils, butters, and waxes. Whether you prefer a classic lip balm, a rich lip mask, or tinted care, choose the texture that feels good on your lips. For sensitive lips, a suitable, well-tolerated formula and regular care are especially important. This helps keep lips comfortably soft and supple, even in wind, cold, and dry air.
